Darin M. Ely, CSSCS®

Darin grew up in Abingdon, VA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University. He continued his studies at the University of Virginia following his graduation when he developed his passion for financial advising. Darin has been in the financial service industry for over 25 years. Early in his career he learned to listen to the concerns and goals expressed by families and business owners. This approach has provided valuable insight that is still the bedrock of Darin’s practice today. This intentionality is the core of Virginia Asset Group and guided Darin to open the firm in 2004.

Working with clients on their holistic plan is Darin’s priority. Regardless of investment type used, Darin will match a unique portfolio tailored to meet the goals of each client. The goal is to maximize risk adjusted returns, while introducing specific professionals as needed for estate planning and taxation needs. Risk management is a core consideration for many families and Darin is well versed in the solutions available surrounding long term care with the most educational solutions at the forefront. All clients will receive the individual attention they expect and deserve.

Outside of the office, Darin lives in Virginia Beach and has 2 grown children, Taylor and Chase.  Taylor is a recent ODU graduate and Chase is pursuing his degree at Radford University. He serves on the board of the Radford University Foundation and the Safe House project. He is also a member of the Community Leaders Partners, which is affiliated with the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
